HOME ON THE....RAMAPO RESERVATION

Spring break is a distant memory, and rounding the corner is finals week, that marks a long and grueling school year. Between juggling papers and end-of-the-semester-parties, what better way is there to ease your mind than to leisurely hike locally throughout The Ramapo Reservation?

The Ramapo Reservation, for short, is the largest park area in Bergen County. Over the years the park has grown to be over 4,000 acres and has increased in visitors for a range of amenities. These include: camping, canoe/kayaking, cross country skiing in the winter, fishing, and of course hiking.

With everything I have going on, I was looking for somewhere I didnt have to travel far inorder to enjoy the landscapes and peace of the outdoors. I was looking for somewhere I could go that I could be alone with my thoughts but not be intimidated by the extremity of the woods. I didnt feel like this at all, there are so many trails and alot of people around that I could find peace with myself, and still be in the realms of other people just incase.

Difficulty: Moderate

Distance: There are over a dozen trails ranging from .3-3.5 miles
